The 5-Day a week Bible Reading Plan is a customized plan included in our monthly memberships.
This plan includes the following:
Breaks up the readings into 5-days per week. For our family we set apart time during our school week/work week to do the readings and study our memory verses. We chose to have a 5- day plan as we wanted the plan to become routine and for many of us routines go out the window on the weekend. This 5-day plan allows us Saturday to make up any readings we may have missed and to spend Sundays focusing on the lessons presented in bible class and worship service.
Two Built in Break Weeks. We have built two break weeks into the plan. Half-way through and the last week of the year/the first few days of the new year (Weeks 26 and 52).
Bible Memory Verse Stickers for each week come directly from the Bible Reading Plan for that week. Context is very important to us. It is our desire for the Bible to always be used the way God intended. When memorizing scripture, we want to ensure we are understanding the context around each verse. For that reason, we pull the verses straight out of the Bible Reading Plan for that week.
The Reading Plan includes both verses from the New Testament (NT) and the Old Testament (OT) for each assigned day. The way we have designed the plan is so the entire Bible will be read in a single year. However, we know that may be difficult for some. For us, our kids attention spans become an issue - so in 2024 we will just be reading the NT daily readings with the kiddos and during our evening devotional time together we will be reading the OT verses. Bible Memory Verse Stickers alternate years so that we can be sure our kids and those of us who need a bit more grace when it comes to the Bible reading plans can get the whole Bible in over the course of two years.
2024 Stickers will be focused on the New Testament, and 2025 Stickers will be focused on the Old Testament.
Bible Reading is in a Chronological order (With NT and OT being separate) - There are many reasons we decided on a chronological plan. The first was to help aid in understanding of memorization verses. When reading the Bible in chronological order we can see the same history stated by different writers. Some writing styles may resonate with each of us differently. Seeing verses in parallel can help aid in a deeper understanding of the intent of the verse and helps us place the verses on a biblical timeline. As we begin to memorize large amounts of scripture it can be helpful to visualize the verses in the correct timeline.
